About Us

We are a small family business creating unique hardwood items from beautiful, locally sourced timbers. Living and working on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey in the north west of Wales, we have finally turned a passion into a new and exciting enterprise taking inspiration from our natural surroundings. We are a husband & wife team, Sian & Keith Jones who, after full careers in very different fields, have now decided to embark on this new venture.

Our products, although mainly concentrating on one-off bespoke boxes, also includes items of furniture, welsh love spoons, outdoor furniture, food boards, tea-light holders and Welsh Dragons!

Wherever possible, our boxes are made from locally sourced timbers which have either been felled naturally by storms or have been cut because of natural old age which have made the trees unsafe. Many boxes have been made from pruned limbs leaving the tree standing, or from logs saved from piles of firewood.

When creating a box the overriding factor is the piece of timber to be used, identifying grain pattern, interesting knots, medullary rays, burrs and so on. What some people regard as faults or weaknesses in a piece of timber, we view as part of its character & beauty. This will define the shape, style & dimensions of the finished item. The box-joint hinges, featured on many of our boxes, are hand machined from the same piece of timber as the remainder of the box. For a more formal box, such as the medal boxes we make, we use the precision machined smarthinge in either stainless steel or brass, depending on the metal type of the medal(s). These are produced to a ‘stop’ angle of 95 degrees,
